7/22: 4 polls were released today in competitive states (Florida, New Hampshire, Ohio and Colorado). All 4 changed in color one way or another. Florida moves barely in favor of McCain today, and Ohio moves from barely Obama to a toss-up. The net result is a 47 electoral vote swing for Sen. McCain.
Ironically, even with these gains it potentially is getting harder for Sen. McCain to win as Colorado moved towards Obama today and changed from barely to leaning in his favor. Sen. Obama now has leads of 6 points or more in states that account for 269 electoral votes. Ironically, that would mean that if Sen. McCain were to win all of the current toss-up states and carry New Hampshire where hew is currently behind by 5.86%, there would be an electoral tie.
I am now beginning to see evidence of the narrowing of the national polls in state polls as well and expect to see the narrowing continue over the next several days.
