9/28: On September 18th, Sen. McCain had pulled to within 634,000 (0.46%) votes in my projection and I had said for about a week that he was probably ahead. There has been a dramatic turn in the polling in the last week back toward Sen. Obama. He has gained by 1.82 million votes (1.32%) since. His gains have been broad-based and nearly nationwide. We will find out this week whether the debate had any impact one way or another.
