
9/28: A new Rasmussen poll shows Sen. Obama ahead by 17. His lead here expands just a little to 17 points and California remeains safely on his side.
9/21: ARG released a new poll in California showing Sen. Obama ahead by 14. As a result, Sen. Obama's lead expands to just over 16 points.
9/16: A new Field poll was released yesterday showing Sen. Obama ahead by 16. This is down from 24 in their last poll 2 months ago, but in line with recent polling.
8/28: Public Policy Institute of California released a new poll today showing Sen. Obama ahead by only 9. As a result, Sen. Obama's lead is cut to 18 and is likely to be cut even more as new polls remove the Field poll from July. California is still safely on Obama's side, but Sen. McCain picks up a net of nearly 340,000 votes as a result of this poll.
8/22: Rasmussen's new poll in California shows Sen. Obama ahead by 14. This is up slightly from their last poll in July. As a result, his lead jumps over 20 points. This is likely short-lived however, as it appears that The Field poll from July is an outlier and once removed will likely cut his lead down to about 15. California remains safely Obama's.
7/31: The Public Policy Institute of California released a poll today showing Sen. Obama ahead by 15. This is very similar to their results in mid-May. With this poll, Survey USA's June poll is replaced and Sen. Obama's lead expands from 18 to nearly 20 points.
7/26: Rasmussen had only 1 release today in California. It shows Sen. Obama lead has shrunk from 28 points in their last poll in June to only 12. California is still not likely to be competitive, but it is yet another example of the trend toward McCain this week. Sen. McCain picks up nearly 800,000 net votes with this poll.
7/16: The new Field poll confirms the Rasmussen poll taken 3 weeks ago. Sen. Obama's lead in California expands to 24 points. His lead of nearly 3.3 million votes represents more than half of his overall lead.
6/25: A new Rasmussen poll has been published and shows Obama with a 28 point lead. This may partially explain what appeared to be an outlier LA Times/Bloomberg national poll showing Obama ahead by 12 points nationally. As a result of this poll, Obama expands his lead by nearly 400,000 votes in California.
6/21: California provides the first update since the initial data was loaded. No significant change, although Obama's popular vote lead is slightly trimmed. Still Obama has a safe lead in California.
6/20: Based on the data so far, Obama has pulled ahead in recent weeks, still too early to determine if McCain can or will make a play here.
