Electoral Math

8/18: 6 new polls today in Colorado, Ohio, Illinois, Georgia, Tennessee and New York. No color changes on the map today, but Sen. Obama's lead is cut to under 3% and under 4 million votes today for the first time since June. With Colorado's poll, Sen. McCain for the first time has taken a small lead there. In fact, eliminating toss-ups, Nevada (5 electoral votes) would be added to Sen. Obama's total, while Sen. McCain would pick up North Dakota (3), Ohio (20) and Colorado (9). That puts the electoral college at 269-256 with Virginia currently a tie in my projections. If Virginia were to be won by Sen. McCain its 13 electoral votes would result in an electoral tie.
