Electoral Math

9/27: Only 2 new polls today in Louisiana and in Iowa. No real changes in Louisiana as Sen. McCain leads by about 15 there. In Iowa, at least temporarily, Sen. McCain has closed the gap enough to move the state from safe to leaning Obama. This will not likely stay this way for very long as the oldest poll used in Iowa's projection is a Battleground poll that showed a tie between the candidates. This poll will age out of my projection in the next few days.
What a week for Sen. Obama. He has gained about 1.8 million votes in my popular vote projection, he's gained 21 electoral votes, while Sen. McCain has lost 53.
It will be interesting to see how polls look next week after the debate last night. It's hard to know if there was a winner yet.
